Midlife Traveling Mayhem

I am a middle aged, married woman with a grown daughter and we work-camp. I am creating this blog to connect a community about midlife, travel, RVing, funny stories, and experiences. Hope you enjoy!

Follow the suggestions…

Suggestions are often overlooked, ignored if you will. If you think about it, they are really just learning from someone else’s mistakes. Usually, suggestions are just good advice.

It was a gorgeous day. The kind that makes you just want to be outside. Not too hot, not too cold, gentle breeze, and everyone enjoying themselves. I think I find this story so funny because it is totally something that would happen to me LOL.

The campground entrance is gated and has bike trails on either side. 28 miles of bike trails to be exact.

The gates were down. A man and woman were riding their bikes on the road instead of the bike paths.  Now keep in mind, they were wearing all their biking gear including helmets and gloves. The man flew through the gap in between the gates. The woman followed but, I assume did not see the gate, because she hit it straight on with her right upper arm and chest. She bounced back but kept the bike upright. We must pause here to give her credit for that!

She flew down the road like nothing had happened, all the while people yelling for her to stop. The gate is bent outwards at a 45-degree angle and dangling. When the gate opened, the arm fell off into the driveway.

Good news, the woman stated she was fine despite the big red welt mark on her arm. The craziest thing about this story is the man left her at the camp store to complete the incident report.

Hopefully, she learns a few lessons from this. 1) Watch where you are going. Do not follow blindly! 2) Follow the signs. Regulations are usually in place because it has already happened and 3) Find you someone that will stand by you and support you on your stupidest day.

Stay on the path!
