Midlife Traveling Mayhem

I am a middle aged, married woman with a grown daughter and we work-camp. I am creating this blog to connect a community about midlife, travel, RVing, funny stories, and experiences. Hope you enjoy!

Just another day,

Today was a good day! Nothing too exciting, just a good camping day. We slept in and had a lazy morning. I cooked sausage gravy and biscuits for brunch. My daughter and I went to the natural springs. They are supposed to be 68 degrees year-round, I can’t verify the actual temperature, but they are cold. The kind of cold that feels good after you are numb. Now, it is mid-March, and it was 73 degrees today, so the sun thawed us out quickly. I cooked chicken and dumplings in the crockpot.

While we were playing cards, a camper came in across from us. There was a widow maker in the tree above the camper. The state park workers showed up and tried to knock the limb out with a shovel. That didn’t work. I know, I was just as shocked as they were. They then moved the truck under the limb, and he climbed onto the roof of the truck and pulled on what he could reach. Part of it came crashing down onto the truck. The other part is still stuck in the tree. My husband said, “Landed just where they wanted, in the back of the truck so they won’t have to pick it up.” Bahahahhaaha

Ending the day with cookies, a fire, and watching the other campers roll in.
