We are at Blue Springs State Park in Clio, AL. The campground is nice and quiet, and they do have a few sites with full hookups. Their selling point is the natural springs which feel so good, once you go numb, with large grassy areas to lay and picnic tables. The only thing is, there is only one gas station and a little hole in the wall place to eat in the entire town. The nearest town with restaurants and Wal-Mart is 35 minutes away. Yesterday was my birthday, and my family was going to take me out to eat. The little restaurant was closed because it was Sunday. We swam in the springs, and my husband cooked me fried taters with onions and tacos.
It was raining this morning, so we went out to the gas station and decided to try the restaurant today. The parking lot was full. We went in and placed our order and had a seat. A woman came over to our table and said our card had been reversed and that she was with Alabama Ag Credit and they were covering our lunch. They set up a table in the corner of this small restaurant which had about 10 tables, with the usual grab bag stuff for member appreciation. The food was really good!
Thank you, AL Ag Credit for my birthday lunch! You never know how one act of kindness can touch someone. Such a nice treat made so many people’s rainy day a little brighter.
I had a great birthday, good thing I celebrate all month 😉!
