One of the things I love about this lifestyle is the people you meet along the way. We have met several people from all over the world while camping and have remained friends throughout the years. I am not talking about just acquaintances either. Have you ever met someone, and you just instantly know you will be friends? Surprisingly, that has happened to us a few times on this journey.
When we first started out, our neighbors were a young couple that were working for the local rafting company. They would come over and sit around the fire and share stories. We were only neighbors for about 6 months but had that connection immediately. We both moved on to our next adventure. That is the downfall, you meet lots of people but some you don’t want to leave.
About 2 years later, and 2 states away, we were in a new location. I noticed that this couple had pictures on Facebook of our same location. We texted and were able to meet up for lunch one day and catch up. That was the best day; it just felt like home.
We are enroute to our next location and called some other friends we met while camping to get some campground recommendations. They suggested a great campground and even came down and visited with us for a few hours.
