Midlife Traveling Mayhem

I am a middle aged, married woman with a grown daughter and we work-camp. I am creating this blog to connect a community about midlife, travel, RVing, funny stories, and experiences. Hope you enjoy!

Start the adventure…

I felt so stuck. Stuck like in a cement box. Kind of like being in prison. Now mind you, I am a 47-year-old woman so I know I can’t trust my feelings. IYKYK! I would get up and go to work, make it through the day, and long for my bed and nothing more. Will I die at my desk? Would anyone notice?  I was not living anymore, just surviving. Something must change. I need to feel alive again. I want to experience and explore new things. I want to travel. I need a new plan and fast.

I woke up one morning and realized I have lived in the same area my entire life, the same as my ancestors. Now, I know there is nothing wrong with that, I just think I am wired differently. Some will say a lot differently!  I wanted to see more things, experience different areas, start new traditions, and start living again.  Life is too short!

We started to research work camping opportunities and realized this was something we wanted to try. If you don’t know about work-camping, you work for a campground in exchange for wages/site. Each campground is different, so you must investigate the perks and decide which is best for you and your situation.

We made the leap in July of 2025. We chose an RV resort not far from home as we didn’t know how this was going to work out.  There have been bumps in the road, but that is just life, right? We are now preparing to move onto our 3rd adventure and are as excited as a kid on Christmas morning. The people we have met along the way and things we have experienced so far have been worth every moment of worry!

My best advice at this moment is that faith is not seen. Take the Leap!!!
